Today, Governor Jindal issued a statement following the release of the Louisiana not seasonally adjusted unemployment rates for the month of April. The data shows Louisiana's not seasonally adjusted unemployment rate improved in every parish and metro area of the state in the 12 months ending in April.

Governor Jindal said: "Today's job numbers are proof that Louisiana's economic surge is widespread, with job growth happening all across the state. The fact that every single Louisiana parish and metro area has shown an unemployment rate improvement over the past year is proof that the policies we have pursued over the last six years are working. We now have more people working in Louisiana than ever before and our future is bright."
